Murray Energy Corporation has over 3,000 well-paid employees with an excellent benefit package throughout the United States, including Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, and Utah.
In addition to the wages and benefits associated with the over 3,000 jobs created by Murray Energy Corporation, there are significant additional economic benefits created by these primary jobs. A study performed by Penn State University suggests that for every one primary job created by the coal industry, there are associated eleven (11) secondary jobs related to that position. These jobs are related to suppliers, medical professionals and services, machinery, maintenance, consultants, etc. Based on this study, over 30,000 jobs can be credited to Murray Energy Corporation’s existence which adds great benefit to the local economy.
Significant tax revenues are generated by the production of coal at each operation, which can be used for improvements by State and Local government agencies and citizens of those regions.
